What kind of extra content is incuded in the Barnes and Noble exclusive editions of your books?
Maureen –
The bonus content varies from book to book. I always write 8-16 pages of bonus material that adds to the story. Also, the cover always has a secret poster on the inside.
Hi Mr. Gibbs,
I love your Charlie Thorne series! Do you know if or when more will come?
Hayden –
Not sure if there will be another CT.
Hi Mr. Gibbs, I hope you are well. I was wondering if you are going to release a FunJungle graphic novel. If so, when? Also, are your kids, Dashiell and Violet named after the kids from the movie, The Incredibles? Thanks
Vedant Bhatia
There are no plans for a FunJungle graphic novel at this time, but I hope that may change in the future.
My children are not named after the characters in the Incredibles. That is a coincidence.
Dear Mr. Gibbs,
I have some questions I was hoping you could answer. I know these are a lot, so it is totally ok if you don’t want to answer all of the questions. Can you tell us more about how you created characters like Summer and Marge O’Malley? Will we ever learn more about Teddy’s life before FunJungle? If you could spend a day at FunJungle, what would you do first? Do you see Summer as a co-investigator or more of a sidekick—or something else entirely? Which character would you want to hang out with for a day, and why? Have you ever thought about making a series based in FunJungle where Summer is the main character?
Vedant Bhatia –
Creating characters simply takes a long time and a lot of brainstorming.
We might learn more about Teddy’s life before FunJiungle some day.
I’d probably go to Hippo River first.
Summer is a co-investigator.
I can’t choose between all my characters.
Once you start a series in one person’s voice, it it very jarring to switch to another person’s voice.
What is the new fun jungle book
Duck –
I will not be giving info about the new FJ book for a few more months.
Dear Mr Gibbs
How do you come up with great stories?
Veer bhatia –
I have some info on my FAQ page about how i came up with the ideas for the series, or you could go to the Writing Advice page and check out Mission: Write.
Hi Mr. Gibbs!
My family is taking a trip through New Jersey (listening to your amazing books, duh) and my sisters and I were hoping to visit Sandy Hook. I know it’s a long shot, but do you happen to remember which beach you visited in Sandy Hook that inspired the scenes in Evil Spy School? It would be so cool to see it in person!
Either way, thank you so much for writing these amazing books!! You are our favorite author ?
Sincerely,
Ella
Ella –
Sadly, Sandy Hook is one of the few places that I was never able to visit in person while writing the series. I had to construct the entire scene by using Google maps — and I still haven’t ever been able to get there myself.
I am glad you are enjoying the boos, though! Thanks for your kind words!
Is there any plans on making a second bruce wane not super.
lucas –
I hope that there will be another BWNS soon. Atay tuned to this site for details.
Hey Mr. Gibbs,
When will Spy School: Blackout, Ape Escape, and Spy School: Secret Service GN come to the Once Upon a Time bookstore, so I can get signed copies? Thanks!
DuckCalifornia –
All upcoming release dates are listed in the Upcoming Releases box on every page of this website. Those dates are the dates that Once Upon A Time will have the books — as well as the dates when all other bookstores will have them.
Are you going to write any more Charlie Thorne books
Hotdog –
I don’t know if there will be any more Ct books. I would like to write more, but they take far longer to write than my other books and I have a lot of projects to juggle.
Hi Mr. Gibbs,
I just saw you post about Charlie Thorne books taking a long time to write. However, I think they take a long time to write because they are so specific and detailed. I think that’s why Charlie Thorne is your best series. I sincerely hope you consider writing more!
Thoughts on the MAGA administration’s removal of Jimmy Kimmel?
Alexander –
Free speech is a constitutional right in this country. The government is not supposed to be able to threaten a broadcasting company’s license because they don’t like what the company is saying.
This is an unprecedented attack on the first amendment and ought to be entirely unconstitutional.
This is a slippery slope. I do not want to live in a country where the government can randomly decide what media is good and bad.
Can you please make a charlie thorne book soon. I have waited so long! Please consider it!
Caleb –
I have an idea for another CT book, but I do not know if i have the time to write it.
Why did you choose Gibson Frazier to read your books and Emily Woo Zeller to read your books they match perfectly to the books.
Ps. How did you choose them?
Charlie –
I did not choose the people who read my books. My publisher chose them.
