Hi all! 2026 is going to be a big year!
First up, on March 24, 2026 there’s the newest book in the FunJungle series, Ape Escape.
When a baby gorilla is stolen from an orphanage in Rwanda, Teddy, his parents, and an old family friend find themselves in a race against time to save it. Teddy has to piece together clues to figure out where the little ape is being taken while traveling through some of the most incredible—and dangerous—terrain in the world.
At the same time, he’s long-distance consulting with Summer to help solve another mystery back at FunJungle. Between facing down lions on the Serengeti and chasing poachers through the bazaars of Zanzibar, will Teddy be able to find the baby gorilla before it’s too late?
I’m pleased to announce that, once again, there will be an exclusive edition of this one available from Barnes & Noble, featuring an exclusive jacket, an annotated map of—plus bonus content that features Teddy’s safari checklist, fun animal facts and more!

And those are not the only books coming out in 2026.
There will also be the fourteenth Spy School novel in the fall (although I am not ready to share details — and it does not even have a title yet).
And there may be another book coming late in the year, although the details about that must remain classified for now.
However, keep checking this website for details! There’s much more to come!

Dear Mr. Gibbs,
Are you planning on having Murray Hill escape from jail again? I ask this because so many times you bring back side characters from earlier books and Murray often escapes.
For example you brought back Tina Cuevo to rescue Ben and his associates from the island Murray stranded them on,just a prediction though!
Dear Stuart Gibbs,
Hello, I am a Huge fan of yours, I loved reading your Spy School books, and I have one question for you. In the beginning of the book blackout you said you had talked to 2 cyber experts at the CIA, how did you meat them? Have you done work at the CIA? How do you know so much about the CIA?
SG Fan –
S-vetlana
(:
I can;t reveal what will happen with characters in future books, as that would spoil the surprise of reading them.
SS lover –
I explained how I was invited to the CIA in the acknowledgements of that book: Because of the success of Spy School, the CIA wanted to talk to me. So I have been allowed to visit and now have contacts there.
Dear Mr. Gibbs,
How much are you done with the SS 14 like 25%, 50%?
Hello Stuart Gibb’s, I hope you continue all of your series including: Fun Jungle, Spy School and your spaced out graphic novel, I love all of your books and series, and I want to know what some of the series that you will make in the future. Keep continuing all of your spy series because those might be the best of all of your books with all of the action.
P.S. can you give me spoilers about book fourteen in the spy school series
-Thanks
You need to make a Spy School movie!
P.S. please read my other comments
-Thank you
Dear Mr. Gibbs
Is there an end in mind for Spy School soon? I’ve been wondering for a bit after Project X. Also the ending of Waste Of Space (I wont spoil) kinda has an ending for a new book or series. Is there a new book or something else in mind or that was the ending just the end?
Hi,
I love your books. I love CT, Spy School, Fun-jungle and MBA the most. You put so much thought into your books. You have inspired me to become an author too. I hope that you keep on making more books. My Librarian said that you are coming to our school with James Ponti in March. I love his City Spies, Sherlock Society ,and Framed!!. I cannot wait to meet you and get all my books signed. I hope that one day I will be as good writer as you are. I would also like to know if you will be at NTTBF.
(Sorry for the long letter)
Sincerely, Your 1# Fan
I loveee SS
I am 90% done with SS14. But there is still a lot of work that other people have to do on the book, like designing it and getting it printed.
SG Fan –
When I am ready to share news about future series, then I will post that information about it on my blog on this website.
And no, I cannot give you — or anyone else — spoilers about what would happen in SS14. Why on earth would you want surprises in the book to be spoiled for you?
BookWorm –
I know how the SS series will end but am not planning to end it soon.
And yes, Waste of Space is the last book in the MBA series.
Booklover –
Thanks for your kind words about me and my good friend James. Yes, I plan to be at NTTBF this year.
Dear Mr. Gibbs
Is there a movie still in mind for spy school? I’ve been wondering since the blog post on December 15th 2020
BookWorm –
I am still trying to get that movie made, even though it has been five years since that blog post.
Dear Mr. Gibbs
Did you try Lionsgate? Or like Universal or Showtime? I feel like they would do a movie on spy school. But I hope a company will help make one.
Hey, Im a huge fan of spy school, I’m wondering if the story line will continue into the adult lives of them, how many more years worth of books are you thinking there will be? Also if it does get into adult lives will it just focus on just Ben, or will it still have a lot of plots involving everyone?
Sorry about all the questions I’m just super curious as ive been following these books since I was 5, and I’ve read them all at least 5 times, most of them more, so its been a big part of my life, and it’s so exiting and I just have so many questions.
Hey, I love spy school and I was thinking how cool it would be to have one of the plots of the book take place in a city like New York around Christmas or something, and maybe bring back Jessica or someone from the past, and it could be called something like spy school lights on to go off the past book blackout and the lights could be referring to all the Christmas lights.
Hi I love spy school, its so thought out and the plots and ideas are absolutely genius. Also I know Ben is the main character, but it would be cool to have a book with all of their perspectives and narration in one book, in different chapters, or even a book centered around Erica, or someone. Anyway the books are great and I’m sure they’ll continue to be great no matter what!
Madisyn Wanstead –
Since the books are targeted at middle grad readers, aging the characters up to adults wouldn’t really work — and I still have many adventures planned for them as teens. That said, if the series did eventually get to adulthood, I couldn;t really say what the plots would be, as that would be many many years from now.
Madisyn Wanstead –
I greatly appreciate your enthusiasm for the series, but I personally believe much of the appeal of the series is that it is told from Ben’s POV. I personally can’t think of a book series that shifted perspective of characters well into the series (although that certainly may have happened).
Dear. Mr. Gibbs,
I am thoroughly enjoying the spy school series and have been for a while now. If you could find the time, I would love to pick your brain.
Ben’s development has seemed tedious to me. I say this for many reasons: although Spy School Goes Wild was a more eccentric (and recent) book displaying his growth as a spy in training, I feel like this depth should be displayed to a proportion with-in every book.
Do you feel that showing Ben’s development more would fast track the series? What I mean by this is do you feel like the more Ben progresses, the less enjoyable the books will be due to the rise of newfound expectations within Ben’s character?
Thank you for your time,

Dear Mr. Gibbs,
I have found the thirteenth book of spy school very pleasant and is wondering how long you figure the series will be?
Thanks,
Curious George
Yay!!! The new books are coming this month!!!!

I do not take anything that happens in my books lightly. Everything that is done is done with a great deal of thought. I have had Ben continue to develop his skills, but keep in mind that the books take place over a very short period of time. To me, Ben’s improvement seems commensurate with that. Goes Wild was designed, in part, to showcase Ben’s improvement. But in books with many other characters, he has to be a team player and play to his strengths.
Curious George –
I do not know how many books will be in the SS series.
How many more books will you make in the spy school series? Is there any authors you can suggest that make books kind of like yours? ex. James ponti
SG Fan –
I do not know how many books there will be in the SS series.
I have a whole blog post of book recommendations.
Dear Stuart Gibbs, I’m a huge fan of the spy school series but I was wondering if you were gonna ever write in a moment where Ben actually does get shot in like the leg or stomach by the books main villain, I think it would be great especially to see how the emotions of the other characters play out or even have it so like Ben gets “killed” but the villain just has him captured and faked Ben’s death
Charlie –
Glad to hear that you’re a fan. Ben has been injured in his adventures before, but since the book is told from Ben’s POV, it is very difficult to show how people would respond to Ben being ‘killed’ since they would have to be expressing that to Ben himself.
When is the next spy school novel released
:?-?)

I love Spy School so much and I was wondering of you know what date you will release spy school 14, and I saw another comment saying that there should be a book that the setting is around Christmas time and I think that there should be Spy School books around different holidays.
P.S sorry that this comment is a bit long, and I am a big fan!
I am a big fan of your spy school books, and just finished #13. Keep it up, cause I’m excited to read #14.
I.LOVE.SS
All upcoming release information is listed in the Upcoming Releases box on every page of this website. If I am not listing a specific date, that means that the date has not been set yet.
It is hard to do SS books for different holidays as the books progress in order through the year and the concepts are generally driven by evil plots rather than holidays.
When do you think you will release the plot and cover for SS 14?
Spy School Enthusiast
I will release the cover and plot of SS14 some time between now and July.
I am wondering if there is a new Charlie Thorne in the works? She is the best character and I would love to see more from her!
Caitlin Poulsen –
I would like to do another CT but am not sure if it will happen or not.
