Alan –
Thanks so much for your kind words!
Hi Mr. Gibbs, I have a question about writing . What font do you use and what is your recommended font ? Also where do you write your books like on Google slides or what app ?
Another off topic question. This one is about the Spy School series . I don’t know if it is just me or lately Ben and Erica’s relationship , I noticed that they have lost some types of feelings way more than the other books . I have a theory that soon it will probably end. Because Erica is toxic ( in my opinion ) because she uses Ben multiple times . And when Ben first saw her he liked her because of her looks later finding out her actual personality.
I don’t really know but thank you for your time .

Honestly, what font anyone chooses to write in is completely a matter of personal preference that has no bearing on your story at all.
I write in Times, which is a smaller font, but that is not the font that my books are printed in. That font is the choice of someone at my publisher. So my original manuscripts look very different from the final books.
I would simply recommend that you write in whatever font you prefer. (The font is pretty much the easiest thing in the world to change in a book.)
As for Ben and Erica, their relationship does have issues (internal and external) but in later books I haven’t focused as much on it because I think that focusing on their relationship over and over again will get boring.
Dear Mr. Gibbs,
Is there a reason why it seems that Ben and Erica have lost their feelings for each other. I mean they do care for one another but it seems they lost their romantic edge which was an interesting plot point in the earlier books. Matter of fact, on reading Spy School Blackout (great book btw), it seemed as though they were just friends. I understand there can’t be that much romance in a middle-grade series, but I think just a little bit of romantic tension (i.e. Ben having a crush on another girl, Erica having a crush on another girl) would heighten an already spectacular series.
Can’t wait for SS14 and Ape Escape!
P.S. Why did you choose the path you took with Svetlana? In my opinion, making an enemy that could rival Erica would have been really interesting. (She could redeem herself in later books).
P.S.S Why are you reluctant to write another Charlie Thorne book?
P.S.S.S Are there any updates on a movie about any of your books?
Hi Mr. Gibbs, I love your books and I have two questions. Have you ever thought of doing a story that’s split in two parts? I think that’s perfect for a Spy school book. Also can you do a Funjungle book where Teddy goes camping? Thank you
MMXander –
Ben and Erica have not lost their feelings for each other. It’s just that I have written a lot of books that have dwelt on their relationship and I can’t keep doing it. (In fact, I had a subplot involving their relationship in the original draft of Blackout, but my editor felt it wasnt adding anything new to the series — and she was right — so I changed things to focus on Erica’s relationship with Trixie instead, which was something I hadn’t done yet. Honestly, one of the things about two characters in a good relationship is that good relationships aren’t that interesting, which is why so many TV shows have a will-they-or-won’t-they relationship for so long and avoid ever letting the characters get together. (For example, in a good relationship, they shouldn’t really have crushes on other people, even though that would create tension.)
I chose to have Svetlana switch sides because I didn’t want to go the route of having her be the new nemesis. I only wanted to do one plot with the Russians.
I am reluctant to write another CT book because those take me at least twice as long as any other books i do and I have a lot of projects to do and not enough time to do everything I want. I will have six books come out this year. If I had written a CT there might only be three.
When there are movie updates, I will post about them.
Adrian –
Do you mean end one book on a cliffhanger and then make everyone wait a year for part two? I don’t think people really enjoy that. (Although I do end most SS books hinting at the next adventure, as I did with Blackout. Some people might consider that a cliffhanger.)
I have done a FunJungle book where Teddy goes camping. Tyrannosaurus Wrecks.
I can’t wait for the next book that you will publish! Don’t worry, I can wait! I encourage you to keep writing also!
Hello, do you know what the title for the next spy school will be? Also, are you planning to release a fifth Charlie Throne novel?
Dear Mr Gibbs, are you going to make a funjungle graphic novel?( I would really like to see what large Marge looks like!
Ps your books are very good!
Thanks!!!
Yukon&OJS
Hold tight. I will be releasing the title and cover of SS14 within the next month.
At this point, I do not have plans for a fifth CT to be released any time soon.
Annabel Suopanki –
I would love for there to by FJ novels, but at this time, my publisher does not have plans to publish one.
If that changes, I will post about it here.
Is there a movie for spy school? If not are you planning to have one?
Oliver –
The is not a movie for Spy School, although I have been trying to get one made for over a decade.
Stuart, your books are so good
HI GIBBS! I have been IN LOVE with your series!
P.s. I was rooting for Zoe and Svetlana to get together
Stuart please right a new spy school book asap.I pre ordered ape escape but spy school and Charlie Thorne are really really good. P.S please for the spy school book base it in Japan please.?
Everett Pishney –
New SS books are coming. And I have toyed with the idea of doing one in Japan… but that’s not going to happen for a while.
Dear Mr Gibbs please ? tell me when you will release the new as details
AgentFatima
I am posting about it right now!
Aw my gawd the new cover for SS14 is crazy.
Also, I know one of the other two releases. Spoiler alert: it starts a new series.
But is the other release a spanish book or do i not know it yet?
When is the last book going to be published?
Abhster –
I am not counting the Spanish versions as new releases.
Aaxi –
I do not know how many books there will be in this series. Therefore i cannot possibly know when the last book in the series will be published.
Ooh interesting
Will there be Charlie Thorne 5?
Hi I am a kid in Vermont and I LOVE Charlie Thorne books please make more I beg you maybe do one about Leonardo da Vinci
Eshaan and Parker
I would love to do another Charlie book but usure that I can find the time.
I can’t do Da Vinci though because the book The da Vinci Code already did him.
it is crazy think you can respond so fast but here you are doing the unthinkable I love spy school because i can relate to ben because i used to be able to do math a grade up from me until parnets at my school started complaining that it was unfair so I got put back down in 5th grade so its fun to read about what I could have done (if it was true and I was 10x smarter)
Parker –
You are not the only kid to go through something like that. It’s always a shame when parents do something that involves other children at a school, rather than their own.
Capybaras are cool just like your books:D Also I read in the back of whale done usually you have to turn down ideas from most people but it would be awesome to see a age 13-17 book series.
Gabriel –
Sorry but I enjoy writing for middle grade too much to stop doing that.
Hi Mr. Gibbs! I just noticed that for most of your book series, you make the main character the narrator, but for the Charlie Thorne series, you wrote with an outside observer telling the story. Just out of curiosity, why did you choose to write it this way?
wwwww new funjungle book letsgo
Advaith –
I wrote Charlie Thorne in third person because I wanted to shift perspective between characters.
PEASE Make a spy school book with ben having to fake his death to protect himself from another evil organization but erica not knowing about it. P.S make it emotional please!
Please make a ss book and make it where ben has to fake his death to hide from another evil organization otherwise they would rn kidnap his Parents but erica dosnt know causing erica to become seriously emotional the rest of the story is up to you. P.S I live in Vermont and I play hockey for 12U Tier 2 Boys Central Vermont Black Bears. Tomorrow at 2PM eastern time 2/28/2026 we Play ST.Albans IN ST.Albans for the state Championship you can see us on facebook. If you want to find me on there just look for glasses or pink black and blue gloves go BBS!!!!
Jacque
It is very difficult to take suggestions from readers.

HOCKEYFOREVR

Man I really wanted a Charlie Thorne book
I know you’ve said that you have no plans for the next Charlie Thorne book but I love the series and hope that you consider writing the fifth one next year! Also, i’m from Alaska so it was so cool that you based a spy school book in Alaska! Maybe for the next Charlie Thorne book, you could do Marie Curie? Just a suggestion, thanks!
When will you be able to make another charlie Thorne book I really enjoyed and i hate it is coming to an end.Maybe in 2027 when you have finished the next FunJungle and Spy School
Laney :}
Marie Curie is certainly one of the people I have considered doing another CT book about.
Yazan –
I would love to do another CT book, but am having trouble finding the time to write it with all my other projects.
Mr. Stuart Gibbs are you planing on making a spy school goes west because you made SSGS SSGN and now you are making SSGE.
SM
I come up with my titles AFTER I write the books. So even though I have done three points of the compass, that does not mean I will do the fourth.
Dear Mr. Stuart Gibbs,
Thank you for responding so quick. I forgot to tell you but you are favorite author and my friend’s favorite author and after you is Peter Brown and his Wild Robot books.
Sincerely,
SM
I forgot to add that the spy school series is the best
SM
I really like your Funjungle series and how you raise animal awareness with it
