You Should come out with a graphic novel FunJungle book
I love spy school blackout and our entire extended family went to Indonesia last year and me and my cousin both love your books I can’t wait for these new books
I love spy school and all of your other books. I was wondering if you could maybe do a book where fun jungle and spy school meet each other, maybe with Charlie Thorne as a side character. I know that fun jungle and spy school exist in the same world so this would be possible but I’m not sure about the Charlie Thorn part.
i love ss –
Doing a crossover is really difficult, because it has to appeal to people who like each series individually AND each series together. And it has to service dozens of characters. I am not saying that it will never happen — but it isn’t going to happen any time soon.
Dear Mr.Gibbs, do you plan on bringing back Elizabeth and her two friends Chloe and Kate into any future books? I think it’d be funny to see more interactions between them and Erica as Erica and Ben are together while Chloe and Kate seem to like Ben lol

It is always possible that previous characters might return, but i can’t say for sure if or when that might happen.
hi,
if you turn 67 years old, would you consider doing the 67 dance?
also, have you ever had a stalker or a crazy fan interaction?
how long does it typically take you to respond to all questions in the morning? has it become a tiresome part of your routine or a comforting old habit?
thanks,
polga solga

By the time I turn 67 years old, I imagine people will be looking back at the whole 6-7 thing and thinking, ‘Thank goodness we stopped doing that.’
I have never had a stalker interaction, although I have had many pleasant interactions with fans.
Most mornings, it only takes a few minutes to answer all the electronic correspondence. It takes much longer to deal with physical fan mail.
Stuart,
I read your Charlie Thorne series and I thought it was amazing! The puzzle solving, the plot, the crush that ***** has on ****** (No spoilers) made it an amazing story! I have all four of the books and I love them all.
But recently you have not shown any interest or excitement on a fifth Charlie Thorne book, will there ever be one? Or will you leave it at the fourth book.
Let me know soon!
Best,
TimmyTuffKnuckles
hello Mr. Gibbs. You are my favorite author ever!! Next is Rick Riordan By the way what’s your favorite ice cream flavor and favorite city anywhere in the world.
TimmyTuffKnuckles –
Glad you enjoyed CT. I do have interest in writing a fifth CT — but perhaps not the time to do it.
ProPeanutButter
I have many flavors of ice cream that I like.
And there are a lot of cities that I enjoy visiting, but I suppose my favorite city is probably Los Angeles, because that is where i have chosen to live.
Hey Mr. Gibbs , it is your fellow fan and I am extremely excited this year for your upcoming books and also REALLY excited for your SS book this year . I can’t wait to read all of your new books ! Have a wonderful day and tell James Ponti I said hi . You guys both are amazing authors .
Stuart,
I love your books, and I was wondering if you could come to my school in the future.

Hi Shahraan –
For me to visit your school, I have to be invited by your school. Please direct your librarian to the School Visits page on this website for information about how to arrange that.
Hey!!! How are you doing today and are there any updates about the SS movie or the NEW book???? Well that’s all ! bye !
– ZYRAH Paniagua
Hey stuart
Thanks for responding to me, and I will ask my librarian.
By the way, I love and adore your books
From shahraan again
Zyrah –
I am doing fine, thanks. I promise that when there are updates, I will post about them.
Hello Mr Gibbs!
Which zoo inspired you to create the FunJungle zoo? Are you gonna make a graphic novel of the FunJungle series? By the way, I love all your books, I almost read them all!
Ivy
Many different parts of different zoos inspired FunJungle, like the San Diego Safari Park, the Bronx Zoo, the Seattle Zoo and the Columbus Zoo (among others).
I hope that there will be FJ GNs but that decision is really up to my piblisher.
Hello Mr. Gibbs,
Are you ever going to make an SS book where the villains win? I just think that it’s extremely unrealistic that Ben and his friends always win. I think it’ll be interesting to see the bad guys win for once.
Sincerely,
Noah
Noah –
My books, like lots of books and movies, are about escapism, not reality. It does not sound like a lot of fun to me to read a book where the detective fails to solve a mystery or the bad guys win. There are plenty of sad stories in real life. I prefer to write stories where the heroes succeed.
Hello Mr Gibbs! I hope you know you have a VERY amazing fandom on tumblr with the best art yet ^__^ your fans are extremely dedicated lol
Just saying I read all the spy school series in 2 weeks and don’t really like waiting a year for the other books. Is it really necessary to publish it in that exact date. Why can’t you publish it the second you finish it
Anonymous –
I can’t publish a book the second that I finish it for a few reasons.
1) I am not a wizard. I cannot just print books magically. I need a printing press to do that. Printing costs money and takes a lot of time. Plus, there are only so many printing presses in the world, and they need to be scheduled far in advance.
2) There is much more to a book than just me writing it. It needs to be laid out and designed and a cover needs to be made.
3) Once books are printed, they still need to get to stores. That requires ships and trains and trucks and takes a lot of time as well.
4) There is also marketing to consider. Thousands of books are released every year. Perhaps hundreds of thousands. So release dates are scheduled far in advance so that stores know when the books are going to show up, so that they can make sure they have enough copies for everyone and shelf space to display the books.
5) Finally, SS14 is not done yet. I still have revisions to make, and will probably be tweaking the book until the last second possible, before it needs to go to press.
So I’m not just sitting on a finished draft, thinking, “Mwah-ha-ha-ha, I’m going to make everyone wait for eight months to read this.’ My publisher and I are actually working as fast as we can to get the books to readers. A one year gap between 60,000 word books in a series might seem like a long time to you, but in the publishing industry, that’s about as tight as it gets.
Dear Mr Gibbs, I’m a huge fan of your work. I started Belly Up in October and now reading All ears. I’m sooo excited for Ape Escape! But I have a question for you, where do you get your ideas from? Also I think you are amazing and an excellent writer
Tess Rooney
On my FAQ page, I explain where the ideas for my different series came from.
Hi! I’m a big fan of every one of your books, but I’m wondering when there will be another Charlie Thorne book coming out in the series, because I REALLY like the series and I’m really hoping you’ll come out with another one soon! (Possibly 2026??)
Thank you!!
mmag –
Unfortunately, there are not plans for another CT in 2026.
Whether or not there will be another book in the series is still undetermined.
Hello Mr. Gibbs,
Piggybacking off of Noah’s comment have you thought of doing a two parts book for an idea in the SS series? For example, leaving us on a cliffhanger for the first book and the second book finishes it. Of course the good guys can win as that’s what you like to write but I think the suspense and new idea could be positive on the series.
Lucas –
Some people would probably argue that I have done something like that, where one plot line ends but another crops up, indicating that the story isn’t quite over. (Such as in, most recently, Blackout.)
But I don’t really like the idea of ending a book only halfway through a story and then forcing everyone to wait a year to get the second half. That doesn’t seem particularly nice to me.
In addition, it seems unkind to people who get their reading material from libraries, as their library might not end up stocking both halves of the book.
(Confession: I did do this in the Last Musketeer series, but much of that was due to the publisher wanting three books in rapid succession. So if you really want that experience, you could always check out those books.)
what us the name of the new ss book becuase i love the book. but will they ever be a book where the cia coneects with another gov other than the m16
Aneesh –
The reason I have not said what the title of SS14 is…. I have not given the book a title yet. Once I do have a title, I promise that I will post about it and stop referring to it as ‘SS14.’
It is certainly possible that the team will coordinate with over governments.
Hello Mr.Gibbs,
I am writing to inquire about the Spy School Entrance Exam, multiple times it tells if we succeed in solving the puzzles, we are to officially become a student at spy school, except this puzzle book was made after spy school got destroyed so how would that be a possibility.
Anonymous –
Different people read the books at different times. Spy School is written to feel current at any time that you read it. And if you have continued to read the series, you know that the physical spy school might have been destroyed, but the classes still continue.
Dear Mr. Gibbs,
I have greatly enjoyed reading your books. I’ve been reading them since I was about 9, and am now 13. I find your books are great sources of entertainment. What are your favorite books or book series?
Hi Mr Gibbs, I know there’s a release date for Spy School 14 but is there a release date for the title or cover? If so what’s the date?
Anish –
I do not have a release date for the title or cover yet. When i have a title and cover, I will post about it.
Dear Mr. Gibbs,
My name is Fatima. I am a ten-year-old secret agent in training and a big fan of Spy School, even though it’s for teenagers. I can read and understand your books really well.
I hope there will be a Spy School movie someday. Could you also please add more Spy School books to Kindle Kids?
Thank you for writing such great books.
Secretly yours,
Agent Fatima ?????
P.S. Please tell me when Spy School book 14 is coming out, and the name if you can. I promise to keep it sec
Dear Mr. Gibbs, I was wondering if you will ever make funjungle a graphic novel
Hi Mr.Gibbs , it is Zyrah again. (I know I am kind of a bug) but I had a dream about the book for SS 14 . And the cover was camouflaged with the spy student standing like the first book. And the title was ” secret of the …. ” I didn’t really get to remember and see but um that was an interesting dream to have. And I hope you have a great day and I also hope you are doing well.
Rog –
I would love for there to be FJ GNs but that is up to my publisher who is focused now on the SS and MBA GNs.
Agent Fatima –
I am pretty sure that I responded to this comment on another page already but…
As far as i know, all of my books are on Kindle (if not Kindle Kids).
The title for SS14 will be release sometime in the next few months. The release info for all books is in the Upcoming Releases box on every page of this website.
Dear Mr. Gibbs
I love your books and your graphic novels!
They have a lot of adventure, suspense, and thriller. These books are just fantastic. Can you please release the 5th Charlie Thorne book soon? Your fans can’t just stop reading your books! You’re a great author.
Sincerely, Mayank
mayank –
Glad to hear that you have enjoyed my books. The problem with releasing the fifth Charlie Thorne soon is… I haven’t written it. So it will not be released any time soon. Sorry.
Dear Stuart Gibbs I am a funjungle enthusiast and would love for Teddy Frizzroy to have an adventure in the Galapagos Islands seeing as there are plenty of endangered animals to write a book about. I have even come up with a pretty spectacular title (Turtle Turbulence, featuring a Galapagos island giant turtle that was smuggled into a plane.)
PS: my friend has come up with a title for the 14 addition to the spy school series following the theme of Spy school goes south and Spy school goes north being (Spy school goes West with a cowboy theme.)
But we both will always be happy with anything that you decide to do.
Kindest regards, A fellow reader.
Jax –
The Galapagos Islands are an amazing place! Although I have actually set much of a book there — in Charlie Thorne and the Lost City.
While I appreciate your enthusiasm, it is hard for me to take suggestions from readers — especially ones based on titles. The title is usually the last thing I write, not the first. That said, there are lots of great places in the west (although not so many cowboys any more.)
Dear Stuart Gibbs
My name is Ethan and I’m 12 years old, you’re my favorite author, and I really like your spy school books, especialy the parts in your books that have planes or flying things, I havent read all your books yet but I still have to read two, but I have a cool idea I thought you would think would be cool to have Ben, Erica, and Mike fight ontop of a blimp, ontop of a hot air baloon, or inside a plane for any of your next books. I hope you like my idea you don’t have to use it if you don’t want to but I thought it was cool and decided to share with you
I can’t wait until fall for SS14!!
Ethan –
Thanks for your kind words. There have been at least two flights inside a plane in the SS series, and several other aerial sequences involving things like helicopters and parachutes.
Dear Stuart Gibbs,
Honestly, I love your books so much, especially the Spy School novels, I’ve read the whole series three times over already and I am so fascinated by them!! They are so exciting and so well balanced between humor, suspense, and a little bit of romance! I hope you will continue writing for a long time! Thank you for all you do!
