  1. Samuel –

I takes years to brainstorm a book and then write all the drafts. How much I work every day can vary greatly — and keep in mind that writing isn’t always sitting at the computer and typing. It could be brainstorming or research.

  2. Hey Stuart. I heard that there may be a new tv series for spy school any updates or news. Also where could I contact to audition for roles.

  3. Jamison Stoehr –

I hope to have some good news about a SS series soon. But that means that, as of this time, there is no auditioning for any roles yet. If there are open auditions, then I will post about them on my blog.

  4. Hello, I am a HUGE fan of your books, and I have a few questions.
    – I know that you care a lot about the environment (congrats on joining the advisory board of Conservation Nation!), so I was wondering if you have ever thought about or gone vegetarian or vegan, because doing that is a great way to raise awareness and help the issues that we face with climate change and conservation?
    – How do you write so many books so fast? (I am SO exited for the MBA graphic novels!!!)
    – Have you ever thought about continuing the MBA series? I was thinking that is would be amazing if you did it from a different characters point of view, like a Moonie from Moon Base Beta.
Thank you so much for writing so many AMAZING books! You are truly an amazing author!

  5. Vegan Book Lover

You are certainly correct that lowering the amount of meat one eats can have an effect on the environment. However, I have found in my travels that sometimes it is exceptionally difficult to only eat vegetarian. (For example, I was just in a remote part of Panama and if I didn’t eat fish I would have had virtually nothing to eat). So I do my best to reduce the amount of meat that I eat. I also try to shop locally at farmer’s markets.

I can write a lot of books because I am very organized and I love to write.

I explain why I ended the MBA series in an older blog post on this website.

    Thanks for your kind words!

  6. Rush carder –

I do not usually share details about the books until a few months before they come out. SS15 will not be out until fall of 2027, so do not expect details until around spring of next year.

  7. Dear Mr.Gibs I know your trying to make your books appropriate for young readers but every time Ben and Erica have a romance scene it goes away super fast so my question is are Ben and Erica dating or what. Thank you

  8. Rush carder –

Ben and Erica are dating. But the books are not really about them dating. They’re about the missions. And yes, I have to make the books appropriate for young readers, so I can’t really have a lot of romance.

  9. Dear Stuart Gibbs,
I just want to say that I am a Huge fan of your books and read them whenever I get the chance. The have amazing plots and make me laugh greatly(in funny parts). Your books keep me from getting bored and push me wonder and ask questions. I love to follow along with the plot whether the setting is in space or on earth. Thank you for sharing your books with the world. Also…what series of yours was most exciting to write and what was your inspiration?

  10. Baseballgal –

Thanks for your kind words about my books. All my series have been exciting to me in different ways.

I detail where i got the ideas for all of them on the FAQ page of this website.

  11. Dear Mr. Gibbs,
    I have a couple questions
    1. When you have an idea for a book do you start writing and write whatever comes out, or do you plan it thoroughly and then start writing?
    2. In the spy school series, what is your favorite character that you created?

  12. Baseballgal

    1) I do not start writing right away. In fact, I am usually thinking about an idea for at least a year before I start writing it.

    2) Since I have created several hundred characters in SS, there is no way that I can say that I like one more (or les) than any of the others.

  13. Dear Mr. Gibbs,
When you answered my questions in your last response and said that you usually take about a year to think about your books and plots. If it takes that much time to think about your books’ plots , how can you write so many books so quickly?

  14. Hi Mr.Gibbs
I know how you wrote Spy school goes North, South and (Kind of) East. Are you going to write a SS goes west? My friend told me no because they live in the west, but I just wanted to clarify. I hope you keep writing more amazing books!

  15. Are we going to see more of Erica and Ben’s relationship in this new book (not as a spoiler just a hint)?

  16. Vyas –

I come up with my titles AFTER I write the books, not before I write them. So even though I have done three points of the compass, I am not planning to build a book around being in the west (wherever one might consider that to be.)

  17. Aden Hale –

I am not sure what you mean by ‘more of their relationship’.

  18. Actually, it’s okay, but I’m sorry if I confused you and wasted your time ?

  19. respectfully ape escape was like the 10th best book in FunJungle I hope that you can come up with more (and better) ideas anyway but I don’t blame you. I imagine you have a lot of pressure on you and you are so busy I honestly did not think you would even have time for this blog. Thank you for making us all happy with your literature.

  20. WUZZUP

Um… Thank you? I appreciate the compliments, but.. While everyone is entitled to their opinion, I’m not sure why you felt it was necessary to tell me that you’re not a fan of Ape Escape. That’s like me going out of my way to tell you that you’re only the 1000th best commentator. I wrote it because I thought it was a good idea. But I can’t please everyone, obviously.

  21. Hi mr gibbs! Im a huge fan of your books! i have heard that you are a fan of the westing game which is one of my favorite books too! In charlie thorne and the royal society the names of the CIA agents are wexler, ford, and theodorakis. i was wondering if this was a reference to the westing game

  22. Dear Mr. Gibbs,
I was wondering why Erica suddenly changed her mind about friends being a liability in Spy School: Revolution

    Your books are awesome, R.I.H.

  23. RIH

Over the previous seven books, Erica has had ample evidence that friends are not a liability.
