P.S. you did a great job answering that last question I asked you (The animal one)

  2. I also lived on the big island in hawai’i like Dashiell (lucky he lives in whymeha and not the giant sauna also named as the city of Kona where there are no seasons just hot summer and really hot summer)

  3. HappyDuck

No, I cannot hack your devices. But I can block trolls who try to use different names but have the same email.

  4. WUZZUP

Kona does have excellent whale watching, though. And the kayaking / snorkeling / dolphin viewing at Kealakakua Bay is wonderful.

  5. Hello! I just wanted to say how grateful I am to have found your books! I am about to graduate, and I’ve been reminiscing about my past years in school. Something that has really stood out to me and has really impacted me is your books, specifically Spy School. It was one of the first novels I picked up when I was little, and I loved it. It really got me into reading and really shaped my view on literature from then on. It made me love it. If there was one constant in my life, it was your books, and I thank you for that. They have never failed to bring me happiness, even in the worst of moments. You will always be my #1 favorite author. Thank you <3

Thank you so much for your kind words. It really means a great deal to get a comment like that from a reader. Congratulations on your upcoming graduation!

  7. Hello Mr Gibbs,
I was wondering, (while I was reading spy school blackout) does Ben only understand mathematical things, and not computer/tech things or are the things they talk about in spy school blackout too complicated( if you don’t understand what I mean, I will follow up).

  8. Aden Hale –

Ben’s natural gifts are for understanding math, not computers.

  9. have you considered that inflation would happen in MBA and half a billion dollars wouldn’t be as impressive as it is now (That’s how much the sjobergs pay to stay at MBA)

  10. are the two siblings Dashiell and Violet in MBA based off of your children(also named Dashiell and Violet) also in the FunJungle series there are two characters named Dashiell and violet (football player and cheerleader)

  11. WUZZUP

The Sjobergs pay three quarters of a billion, I believe, and that will still be a lot for a vacation in 2041.

  12. I apologize for all the questions which might be overwhelming but I am just extremely curious by nature(kinda like Kira from MBA)

  13. Ethan Verissimo

I have been trying to get a SS movie made since 2012. (You can read a bit about what has happened on this very blog.) I hope to have some good news on this front soon.

  14. in all of your series that I have read so far there is a character with immense blue eyes (Erica and Catherine Hale,Summer McCracken, and Zan Perfonic) is there a reason for this?

  15. WUZZUP

I wrote all those books years ago, so I can’t recall exactly how i described them — but I just went back and checked Erica’s introduction and she is NOT described as having immense blue eyes. Did I give all of them blue eyes? Probably. Maybe that’s because everyone in my family has blue eyes.

  16. Hi Mr. Stuart Gibbs. My name is Sofia, I am 11 years old. I am currently writing a book called “Venusians Undercover.” I had read your book Space Case, I had loved it so much! In fact, it was one of the best books I read in my life. Your books also teached me how to add cliffhangers and a lot about pacing. Is it okay if i send a little section of my writing to you by email? Thank you.

  17. Hi Sofia –

I am very flattered to hear that you enjoyed my book and that you have been inspired to write your own. Unfortunately, I get requests like this several times a week and I am unable to keep up with the demand. There is an email address on my FaQ page which you can use to send me your book so far, but I cannot promise to read it any time soon and I certainly do not have the time to give feedback on it. Sorry.

  18. Hello, I just have to say, I absolutely LOVED the fun jungle series. It kind of gave me a different view on mystery books.
Just wondering, was there a zoo in particular that inspired fun jungle?

  19. Stephen –

Glad that you enjoyed the books. FunJungle is not based on any one zoo in particular. Instead, the exhibits were based on many zoos and theme parks, some of which i mention in the book.

  20. Dear Mr Gibbs, I also had a question about the new Spy School Secret Files: Totally True Tales From World War II, will it be apart of the main series or just a funny break from the story??? I had thoughts, since it wasn’t the 15th book.

    -Aden Hale

  21. Dear Mr. Gibbs,
I know that you have been trying to get a spy school movie made, and I have two questions about movies for your books:
    1. What other books would you want to make into movies?
    2. For different books, do you have a preference on whether it’s live action or animated?

  22. Aden Hale –

Spy School Secret Files is not part of the series. It is non-fiction. And thus, not as funny as Spy School (though there are some real things that happened that were kind of funny, like the CIA’s attempt to make exploding pancake batter).

  23. Kermit the Fraud –

I would like ALL of my books to be made into movies. And I don’t care whether they would be live action or animated. Whatever someone wants to do to make it, I am good with.

  24. is erica a baddie? who’s badder, erica or trixie or svetlana? just curious for picturing them in my head

  25. Hi Mr. Gibbs!
I love all your books. The only series I haven’t read is the FunJungle series. I have all the Spy School books, though. I’m very curious, so I have questions for you.

    1. Who inspired you to make Ben so smart?

    2. Is “Waste of Space” the last book in the series?

    3. How do you come up with the childhood stories of Svetlana and Erica? I was wondering because scuba diving in the flooded salt mines of Siberia is super random but super funny too.

    4. (Last one) If you could be any character in the spy school series, who would you be?

    -katie

  26. abcdef

Yes, I have been to Anderson’s a few times. They were one of the first bookstores I ever did an event at.

  27. katie –

    1) I think intelligence is the best asset for any hero.

    2) Yes, Waste of Space is the last book in the series. (I have a blog post that explains why.)

    3) Anything in my books is generally the result of a lot of brainstorming.

    4) I am closer to Ben than any other character in the series.
