Here’s the post you’ve been waiting for: The cover, title and plot of Spy School 12.

A lot of people have been writing to me, asking when this reveal was going to come, noting that often, I have revealed the new SS book much earlier in the year of release. Sometimes, it just takes a bit longer for everything to be fall into place.

So here we go. Allow me to present the new cover of the twelfth book in the Spy School series:

When Ben Ripley’s latest mission goes horribly wrong, he ends up lost in a dangerous wilderness without any of his support team — and stuck with his longtime nemesis, Murray Hill. To make matters even worse, a new, devious enemy is hatching an evil plan and plotting revenge against Ben. Now, Ben must figure out how to survive — and how to thwart the evil scheme — before it’s too late.

Available September 24.

Please be aware that I know you probably still have questions about what happens in the book. I want you to have questions about it. Because i want you to read it. But I am not going to answer any questions about what happens in the book, because doing that will spoil the fun of reading it. Therefore, if you do write a question asking me for more info, I am just going to ask you to read this post again.

  1. Hi Stuart, I have a question: why does ben never seem to get better at any firearms training, or is it just because since the book is for younger readers you don’t want guns in it. I did notice there are flamethrowers, rocket launchers, and grenade launchers.
Big fan, I have read all the spy school books and am excited for the new graphic novels, and I pre ordered SSGW.

Every person has their strengths an weaknesses. It is not actually that easy to be adept at firearms. That’s why shooting is an Olympic event. (Multiple events, in fact.) I would wager that most people on earth could not do nearly as well as an Olympic marksman, no matter how much they train, in the same way that most people could not do anything close to what Simone Biles or any Olympic gymnast can do.

While I understand what you are saying, I have seen plenty of younger kids, (including me) go hunting, shooting, and other things. But I understand as to many it is hard.

  4. I also agree with the fact It would take a lot of training even to come close to a Olympic marksman, but don’t they use air pistols and rifles? or am I wrong?

  5. Dear Mr. Gibbs. Loved the fun jungle series. I just started the SS series 5 days ago and I am loving it so far. I’m waiting for book 5 of spy school and can’t wait. You’re my fav author. At lunch I read your books the entire time. I was wondering if you could answer a question for me. What did you learn while writing the spy school series.

Glad you like the SS series.

Among other things, while writing the series i learned that the very first spymaster of the United States was none other than George Washington.

Glad to hear you enjoyed the new book. Yes there will be another book in the SS series. (For future reference, the Upcoming Releases box on every page of this website is a good resource for answering questions like that.)

If you look in the upcoming releases box on every page of this website, you can see what books I am working on and what will come out next.

Yes, I get a huge amount of mail, in addition to questions here and emails as well.

  11. Hey Stuart, I love the Spy School books! It was the first series of secret agent books I listened to. Just a suggestion, could you think of maybe bringing Spyder back? If you could that would be great.

  12. Mark –

The reason I ended the SPYDER story line was that it seemed like it had gone on long enough, so I don;t know that it will ever make sense to bring them back.
