Hi everyone! As has been the case with every Spy School novel since Evil Spy School, Barnes & Noble and I have collaborated to create an exclusive edition of Spy School Goes North.
This edition will feature an exclusive jacket with a secret map on the reverse side, along with several pages of hilarious content created solely for this book: never-before-seen letters from Ben to his parents, Erica to her sister, Zoe to her true love… and plenty more.
And here’s the best part: It’s exactly the same price as the regular edition! That’s right. You get all that bonus material for free!
Sofie –
Yes, you don’t want to spoil anything. You just want to give a hint as to what the plot is about (like the book previews on this very site — or Goodreads) and then write about what you liked about the book: the plot, the characters, the dialogue, the setting, etc.
Oooooh so basically talking about how the book was formed and structured? Maybe describing some strengths and weaknesses? Ahhh I get it!
Thank you so much! You have no idea how much this helps!
Sofie –
Yes — although I’d focus more on the strengths than the weaknesses.
Of course. 🙂
Thank you!
Hi Mr. Gibbs,
I’m currently in the 8th grade and have been following the Spy School series since I was in the 5th grade. Whilst I know someone like you doesn’t need validation from strangers online, I just wanted to say I’ve loved your series from the very start and will continue to follow it. It’s one of my favourite series and reading it always brings a smile to my face and I wanted to thank you for that.
That’s about all I have to say but seeing as this is a comment on a blog I should probably ask you a question. How bout… do you have a favourite colour?
Joshua –
Oh, I’m always happy to be validated by readers. Thanks for your kind words.
My favourite colour is blue.
Hey Stuart! I have recently found these books a few years before the pandemic. I love the series, and I am in 11th Grade. You got a High Schooler hooked. Anyways, just a quick question – How long does it take on average to make a new book?
You must have a very good imagination. I have ADHD and this is the ONLY book I am actually able to sit still and read cover to cover.
Thank you Stuart Gibbs
NopeProsOnly –
From concept to publication, it’s about three years to make a book.
Hey Mr. Gibbs
With so many amazing series do you ever plan on releasing a new series? Also, something I worry about is, have you already planned the ending to a series, they are all good. Do you plan on continuing all your series for a while?
Garrett –
I can’t possibly start a new series until I end one of my four current series — and I am not planning to end any of those for a while.
Dear Stuart Gibbs,
I just wanted to take a moment to express my admiration for your incredible body of work. Your books are truly exceptional, and I am constantly blown away by your skill as an author.
From the thrilling adventures of your Spy School series to the heart-pumping excitement of the FunJungle novels, your stories never fail to captivate and entertain me. I am always on the edge of my seat, eagerly turning each page to see what happens next.
Your characters are all so wonderfully written, each with their own unique personalities and quirks. I feel like I know them personally, and I am always rooting for them throughout their various trials and tribulations.
Thank you so much for all of the hard work and dedication you put into your writing. You truly are a master of your craft, and I can’t wait to see what amazing stories you come up with next.
Sincerely,
Declan
Declan –
Thanks so much for your kind words.
Dear Mr. Gibbs
I was wondering how you come up with the evil plots SPYDER plans. All their plots are different and very creative. Do you sort of base them off of other plots/ideas or do you make them up yourself.
TrixieHale
I (and all the other authors I know) make up our own stories. We really don’t base them off other people’s plots — although, on occasion, another book or movie might spark an idea for us.
Hello, Mr. Gibbs, I’m in 3rd Grade and have followed the series for 8 months and finished all the books. I’m wondering, do you have any plans for any more Spy School books after this? I don’t want you to spoil them, because I like a surprise. Thank you for making such great books and have a nice day!
Ben –
There will be more SS books after SSGN.
what website did you write you books on??
i want to write a book so i wanted to know
book lover3
I do not write my books on a website. I use the Pages application on Mac, which I like because it automatically backs up constantly, so if my computer crashes I don’t lose my work. And it is usable on all my computers and my phone, so that if I need to access one of my drafts from any of my devices I can do that.
My publisher prefers MS Word for editing, though, so I have to do later drafts of my books in that.
Hello Mr Gibbs, I have followed this series since 3rd grade and I have grown so much while following it. I was wondering if you ever thought of writing a book about Ben being potentially forced to betray Erica for something more important in that moment and be forced to capture / go against her. Just an idea I was curious about.
Much love,
Evan
Evan –
I have considered something like that, but Ben’s character is such that he would never betray Erica. (If you read Spy School Revolution, something like this kind of happens.)
Hi Mr. Gibbs I was wondering if Erica would like someone else rather than Ben.
Benjamin Ripley –
I can’t reveal what might happen in future books.
Hello Mr. Gibbs, I hope you are doing well. I wanted to start off by thanking you for writing your books because I greatly enjoy all of your books especially Spy School and the Charlie Thorne series and they have kept me busy with reading for quite some time. I was wondering when the cover and plot for Charlie Thorne and the Royal Society will be released? Thank you for writing such great books!
Best regards,
Mysha
Mysha –
I will reveal the cover and plot for the next Charlie when I have the cover — which might be a few months.
Is there an exclusive edition of every spy school book?
Braden –
There are exclusive editions for every SS book since ESS — but since they are exclusive editions, ony limited numbers were printed, which means most of them probably sold out years ago.
theres a fanfic with the same title from 2019 lmao
diodeotoby –
By this point, there is probably a fanfic with every title I could possibly imagine.
