The exclusive edition of the Spy Camp Graphic Novel is now available for pre-order!

Once again, I have teamed up with Barnes & Noble to create an awesome exclusive edition of one of my books.  In addition to getting Spy Camp in graphic novel form, gorgeously and hilariously illustrated by Anjan Sarkar, you will also get a double-sided pull-out poster with plenty of bonus content.

And yet, even with this extra material, THE COST OF THE EXCLUSIVE EDITION IS EXACTLY THE SAME AS THE COST OF THE REGULAR EDITION.

  1. X –

I am so sorry to hear about your diagnosis. I have several friends with type 1 diabetes, and while it certainly does affect your life, it does seem that it can be managed.

It is great to hear that you are going to write a mystery novel. I have never written an introduction to anyone else’s book. (It’s not usually done for fiction.) If you write the entire novel, then feel free to email me at stuart.gibbs@rocketmail.com

  2. If I were to publish a book, would you read it (If I sent it to you (for free of course))?
I’m actually quite close to this. Also question: Should you copyright your book before you send it out to a publisher? Obviously, I’ve never published anything, so I don’t know exactly what to do. And do you have any advice dealing with publishing things? If not that’s perfectly fine.

As always God bless and have an absolutely, fantastic, amazing, pleasant, wonderful day today!

  3. Zaphod Westing –

If you published a book and sent it to me I would do my best to try to find the time to read it — but I really can’t promise everything. People send me books all the time and it is impossible to read them all.

It is not too hard to copyright a book, so you could do that before sending it to a publisher — but that is not rreally necessary. I have never heard of a publisher stealing an idea. It’s cheaper to pay for it than to steal it and get sued.

I have some advice for aspiring writers on my FAQ page.

  4. Thank you for the information, sir. It will sure help a lot. I appreciate your help a whole lot.

Random question: Have you ever read Pippa Park Raises Her Game by Erin Yun? And have you ever met her? I was just wondering. That book is like the only book out there that I actually prefer to your books (Your books are still amazing so please, please, please don’t take any offense to that). But don’t worry, all of your books are tied for my #2 book (s) of all time!

As always God bless and have an absolutely wonderful day!

  5. Dear Mr. Gibbs,
Thank you for your early reply. I was not expecting you to write at all! I am greatly happy I had a chance to contact my superstar, and thank you for making my day. I will send you my draft around the middle of August.
    X

  6. Dear Mr Gibbs, I really enjoy your books, they make me happy when I’m sad. Sadly, we just moved to Florida from my home state and where it will always be my only home. Texas. You always make my days, and I just want to say, thank you. Thank you Thank you Thank you Thank you Thank you Thank you Thank you Thank you Thank you Thank you and, Thank you. P.S. I really do hope you feel better X. I’ve met people with type 1 diabetes and even have some family members with it. Hope everyone is well, and may God and Jesus be with y’all always. It can take several years of brainstorming before I even feel like I’m ready to start writing a book, after which it takes 18-24 months to write all the drafts.

  8. Dear Mr. Gibbs, will you ever do a book signing in New York or around NY? Since I live in NY, I can’t really travel to California for a book signing or Q&A.

  9. Agent R –

I do signings in NYC or close by rather often. In fact, I did one at Books of Wonder in Manhattan last summer and one at the Greenwich Library last November. But at the moment, I do not have plans for any more. I’m sure I will get back there some day though,.

  10. Mr Gibbs –
Have you ever done a signing or school visit(or any kind of event really) in Kentucky? That’s where I live and my friends and I LOVE your books.

  11. Kitty –

Sadly, I have never even been to Kentucky. It is one of the only two states that I haven’t been to and I really want to get there some day soon. So I hope that I can do a signing there in the near future.

  12. Mr Gibbs
What are some ideas you had for a book but decided not to use? Its totally ok if you don’t want to say or something. I’m just curious.

  13. Night Terror –

I don’t really like to share the ideas I had that I didn’t use. I might find a way to use them some day and I would prefer to keep them under wraps.

  14. Hello, Again. I just had a very quick question for you. I noticed that both you and Rick Riordan live in San Antonio, Texas (Whooooooooooooooooo! Texas!!!!!) I just wondered if you two have ever met. Thank you for ever. 🙂

  15. P.S. I’m not from San Antonio, but just below the panhandle in the 10th largest town in Texas, Lubbock. I have been though, and it was amazing soooooooo I just want to say. Sorry if you’re a Longhorns fan, but I’m Oklahoma all the way (My parents are Texas Tech Red Raiders fans and people often wonder how we live in the same household). Also OU should’ve won that game!!!!!!!!!!! Also Cowboys over Texans!!!!!

  16. Cason Thomas –

Rick Riordan and I both have lived in San Antonio, but neither one of us has lived there for a long time. I’m not sure if we even lived there at the same time. We have not met.

  17. Hi Mr. Gibbs,
Is it possible for you to have a book signing in Pennsylvania (where I live) during 2023?

  18. Berica4Life –

It is certainly possible for me to have a book signing in PA in 2023. However, that is not so much my decision as that of bookstores in PA. I need to be invited to have a signing.

  19. Hi Mr. Gibbs,
Is it possible for you to have a book signing in the Bay Area (where I live) during 2023?

  20. Dear Mr. Gibbs,

I heard you are a Philadelphia sports fan, and I just wanted to know if you were cheering for the Eagles in the Super Bowl. If you are, I hope you know my hometown Chiefs are going to beat them. On a totally unrelated note, do you ever have a character that you use in early drafts, but then decide to remove them in later drafts?

  21. Stu-

You already had a link to the The Stretch Marks Podcast on your website. THe issue is that the link does not work

I live in Greenwich, CT right next to the Greenwich Library. I have been reading you books for year, and do not know how I missed that event!!!

  23. Nikhil A –

Given that I was born in Philly, I am absolutely rooting for the Eagles in the Superbowl.

I don’t think that I have ever created a character for a book and then gotten rid of them.

  24. Stu Fan –

The event was on my upcoming events list for at least two months. Sorry you missed it.

Haha. I do not know how I missed it. Can’t wait for you to do another one though.

  26. I don’t know, and I don’t even like Berica that much. #TEAMFITZCRACKEN

  27. I am currently writing on this while listening to “Only in Ohio” by CG5 on my Alexa

  28. THIS MEANS WARRRRRRRRRRR.

I, FitzCracken4Life hereby declare war on any person who puts Berica over FitzCracken we will move the war to the most recent blog post.

  29. You must put the couple name in your username if you would like to participate in the war. #TEAMFITZCRACKEN!!!!!!!!!

  30. Other Berica4Life,
How dare you say that you’re the “Real” one! The audacity! Obviously, we’ll have to see who had this username first, so let me start: I had this username for 3 years, since 2020.
What about you, other Berica4Life user?
(also, don’t lie…. or else we’ll have to use other methods to settle this dispute)
i’ve also never seen you on here before either so… yeah

  31. How did Joshua Hallal survive the fall from the eiffle tower? That is incredibly tall

  32. Dear Mr. Gibbs,

I am currently listening to the Tyrannosaurus Wrecks while writing this, and I have one question for you.

I would like to see Harper Weems more. Is that possible?

    #TEAMFITZCRACKEN

  33. Joshua Koskie –

    1) Joshua Hallal did not fall off the top of the Eiffel Tower. he fell off a lower level.

    2) Joshua Hallal is not entirely human any more.

    3) The Spy School series is not to be taken seriously.

    4) Plenty of James Bond villains have survived far worse and survived. In fact, James Bond has too.

  34. FitzCracken4Life

It is always possible that a character could reappear at some point in future books.
