Here’s the Title, Cover and plot of Once Upon A Tim Book #2

I know that the first book in the Once Upon A Tim series came out less than two weeks ago, but the time has already come to reveal the title, cover and plot of the second book!

So without further ado, here’s the cover (and the title):

And here’s the plot:

Prince Ruprecht is VERY UPSET that knights-in-training, Tim and Belinda, have thwarted his plans and ruined his chances with Princess Grace. And so, to get even, he has kidnapped the princess and trapped her in the most complicated, dangerous, complex, dastardly, biggest (okay you get the point)…and scariest maze in all the world!

Now it’s up to Tim, Belinda, Ferkle, and Rover to fend off menacing beasts (like the minotaur), conquer treacherous obstacles (like chasms filled with cave sharks), find their way through the labyrinth (which is very tricky), and rescue the princess before time runs out. Oh, and also they need to remember how to get back out again…or they’ll be trapped inside the maze forever.

Once again, there’s incredibly funny art by Stacy Curtis.  And madcap adventure.  And hilarious comedy.

Plus, it’s already available for preorder!  Just click here!

Oh, and if you missed the rave review of the first Once Upon A Tim in the New York Times, just click here to read it.

As I tell everyone who writes in with suggestions, I really can’t use those suggestions. They usually don’t work with what I have planned for my series.

  2. Mr. Gibbs,

When your films you wrote got made did you get to meet the celebrities who were in them? I ask specifically because another comedy favorite of mine, Gilbert Gottfried died earlier today and he played the role of Rene in your film Silk Degrees.

  3. Classified 101 –

That’s a shame about Gilbert Gottfried.

Sometimes, I met the celebrities, but he was only on set for one day. I did meet mark Hamill on that shoot, though.

Just curious, are you just going to keep using Bombs/explosives for the plots of Spy School? It’s getting kind of repetitive. Me and some friends on discord were discussing this, and we all agreed that this might end up killing the series. I know you have done some other things with the SS series, but 8 /9 of your released books have used explosives as the big threat (Note, I am counting SSSS because of the nuclear launch controls.) The plot is getting predictable, and that tends to ruin book series. There are more things spies can do besides prevent explosions.

  5. efyso –

I am well aware that there have been large explosions of some sort as the threat in most of my books. And I have been working very hard to change that up. SSPX will be different.

That said, few things can affect as many people (or cause as much destruction) as a very large explosion. Which is why the James Bond series uses them as a threat so often as well.

  6. Yay! Can’t wait to buy and read this book!

Is it just a rumor or did FOX purchase your SS scripts?

  7. SS Fanatic –

If you read my blog, you will see that Fox purchased Spy School many years ago, but since getting acquired by Disney, that movie is not happening there any more.

  8. Mr. Gibbs-
Will there ever be an instance where Ben fails to thwart a mission and ends with a cliffhanger? That would be cool to see.
(Also, is there going to be another major villain, or is every book just going to introduce a new enemy?)
Oh and where can I request to read SSPX early? Because I saw some people reviewing SSPX on Goodreads.

  9. Santa Kitten-
I was just confused by the wording jeez. And by the digits, I meant my Question like, “Is this a new anti-bot thing?” or “To keep kids that shouldn’t be on here without parent permission?” (I think the the 2nd would be questionable about the parent permission tho)

  10. President Elmo –

You are misunderstanding. Fox was acquired by Disney.

The enter an answer with digits is for increased security.

  11. BadAtNames

I think having Ben fail to thwart the bad guys and ending a book on a cliffhanger where everyone has to wait a year to see what happens would be kind of cruel.

As for future villains, that’s classified.

I don’t handle the distribution of advanced reader copies, so I’m not sure where people request them.

  12. BadAtNames –

I have done video visits with schools in other countries. As much as I would like to visit other countries for visits, I can’t take that much time away from my family (or my work) during the school year.

  13. Mr. Gibbs,
How would it provide increased security? I mean, not to brag or anything but doing 1×2, while a little tricky for most sixth graders I know, only takes ME 45 minutes.

  14. Ben Ripley –

The increased security isn’t to prevent humans from logging in. It’s to prevent malicious malware or bots from logging in.

  15. Ben Ripley-
It’s just like some websites have you click all the images that have a boat or something in them. To make sure you aren’t a robot.

  16. Spy School Project X is soon to come. Here is a synopsis of what has happened so far:

after defeating SPYDER, ben thought his life would go back to normal. But then he found out while telling his parents his true identity, that there was another organization Murray hill was working for when he was working for SPYDER. Then, when they thwarted and captured Murray Hill, Murray glared at Ben in a way he never had before. After that moment, an email went out to every villain in the world to GET BEN RIPLEY. when nobody but ben’s friends are to be trusted, What new villains will appear? How will Ben Ripley and his friends navigate through the world when almost every villain and assorted scum is chasing after him?

  17. its been a month and 18 days since a new blog post was released!! Usually, this means that Mr. Gibbs doesn’t have something big planned, or that he does, but is waiting for a while to post it!

  18. I know, I’ve been thinking the same thing. I’m just hoping that the next blog post isn’t anything like an announcement that SS11 is the last one.

  19. (Mr. Gibbs puts an announcement that MBA is being rebooted.)

Me: Screams in joy, then runs around the room, then books a flight to NASA headquarters, then fly to the moon via blackmail and money, and finally creates MBA in real life for Mr. Gibbs.

  20. Can you make the math problems harder I was thinking maybe like The diameter of a circle is X The circumference is 8.3 what is the diameter

  21. Unknown –

Yeah, I was thinking I should make the website difficult for anyone to access at all.

  22. Tim Taylor –

My first book with an exclusive edition was Evil Spy School.

  23. Mr. Gibbs –
Do you mind sharing some of the greatest hits from your playlist that you listen to while writing?

  24. JC –

I rarely listen to music when writing, but when I do, it’s most often soundtracks to movies, particularly Raiders of the Lost Ark by John Williams.
