Spy School 8 title and cover reveal!

No point in beating around the bush.  Here’s the cover:

Another Lucy Cummins masterpiece!

As for the synopsis, here you go:

Ben Ripley has barely returned to America after defeating SPYDER when someone makes an attempt on his life — at CIA headquarters.  Even worse, the attacker appears to be none other than Erica Hale.

But while the CIA has branded Erica a traitor, Ben believes there must be another explanation for her actions — even if he has to go rogue to find out what it is.  Now, he’ll find himself up against an evil organization that has been working in secret for a very long time — so long, in fact, that Ben will have to track down the files of America’s original spymaster, George Washington himself.

It’s an adventure that will test Ben in ways he’s never been tested before.  An adventure that will jeopardize the lives of the people Ben cares for — and test the loyalties of his friends as well.

As of right now, the publication date is October 6, 2020.  (If you read this post earlier, you will note that the date has moved up a week.  That’s because I care about you, the reader, and didn’t want you to have to wait another seven days.)

All further details are classified.

I am sure that many of you want to know more about the book.  But that’s all I am going to share.  The more you know about a book before you read it, the less fun it is to read.

  1. I noticed on amazon that spy school revolution was now available for pre-order on amazon. Great! But when I checked the summary of the book, it said Erica was being blackmailed. Is this true, or did someone random guy working for amazon write this

    (This is probably classified right)

    Jawaharlal Nehru. Look him up.

I have no idea how long T Wrecks is. I don’t typeset the books. I only write them.

  3. JKRowling –

You want me to publish CT2 before 2020? That’s going to be hard. Do you have a time machine I can borrow?

You are asking me to get CT2 out sooner — and write another MBA soon — and I assume you also want me to publish my two other books this year? I’m not sure how any human being could possibly write that much. Sorry.

I have never heard of these Harry Potter books. Are they famous?

  4. Zoe –

FJ 6 comes out next month. In theory there will be more after that.

The movie will be as close to the book as possible.

The amount authors get paid can vary wildly. Some authors have to have another job. (I don’t, thankfully.) Some authors are living in their cars when they start writing and end up becoming the richest woman in England. (See Rowling, JK.)

in the Amazon description about the book,it says Erica is being blackmailed and im assuming you didnt write that was that like a typo or something that was not suposed to be mentiond?

  6. I remember you went to a school visit at Valley View Elementary when I was in 5th grade, did you like it there?

  7. Sydpwr,
I know I’m not who you asked, but Stu answered that question recently and it is yes, Mr. Winterbottom is still Alexander’s pet.

  8. Stu-
did you name the main character of MBA after your son?
how long does it take for you to come up with a story idea?
how do you think Ben will look in SS the movie?

  9. CH Klondike,
Sorry,I misspelled that word. Sometimes if I press the spacebar twice, it changes the word.

  10. BookWorm27

Yes, I named the main character after my son.

It can take years to come up with and work out a story idea.

Ben will look like the best actor we can find to play him.

  11. PM deserved to be on the MY times bestseller list. It was action packed and interesting. More interesting than The Three Musketeers by Disney.
And just to say, I’m acting in a play as one of the leads. So if you get a casting choice, look me up please.

  12. Stu needs an automated response bot that replies “it’s classified” every time a question contains the words “Ben” “Erica” “end up” and “date”

  13. I know the question is not to me, but you can find spy school and other merch on the “get stuff!” link at the top of the website

When publishers send out ARC’s, are they in paperback or hardcover (when they’re in print format?)

Also, when a publisher arranges for an author to review a book (City Spies for example), do they use a program like Edelweiss, or does the publisher just mail it to you themselves?

And , since you’re a Crichton fan, have you ever had the brief idea of writing a mystery/techno-thriller (for middle grade, or YA, or adults)?

And finally, have you read Airframe by Crichton? If so, how is it? (it’s checked-out at my library and sold out at local bookstores.)

  15. Teddy –

The ARCs are in paperback, which is much cheaper and faster to print.

It is really the author’s choice what format to get the book in. I prefer to read actual books so they always send me an ARC.

I have written a mystery-techno thriller. The whole MBA series. Any time I write something where I’m using actual science, that’s inspired by the science-based thrillers Crichton wrote.

I have read Airframe. Honestly, I can’t remember how good it is. It’s been a long time since I read it, but I’m pretty sure it was a page-turner.

  16. Stu-
Where I live, if a bookstore is sold out it’s going to be a very, very, very, very, very long tim e until they get it.
So I just wait for the library
Plus, the Airframe book comes back in 3 days so I’m waiting it out.

  17. Stu-
I don’t know why it takes longer than a few days, I just know that it does. (That’s how I got my first Spy School book).

Oh, and let’s say you don’t get to travel to every place where one of your books takes place, is there a certain author of nonfiction, or website that you visit to get facts?

  18. Stu-
I meant to say, what’s the process of getting your book (as in the author, in autographed form) into OuaT?
