Exclusive editions of Spy School British Invasion now available for preorder from Barnes & Noble!

If you have been visiting this site over the past few years, then you have probably seen a post like this before.  Barnes & Noble has been really amazing about printing exclusive editions of my books.  I believe this is the tenth I have done with them.

So, here’s the info:  Once again, you can get a copy of Spy School British Invasion with all sorts of wonderful extras — 16 pages of bonus material, written by me — an extra-glossy book jacket with a secret poster on the interior — and a shiny ‘Barnes & Noble exclusive edition’ sticker — all for the exact same price as the regular edition.

That’s right, you get more book for the same price.  And if you preorder, it will ship right to you, so you’ll get it just as fast as you would get the regular edition.  (Maybe even faster.)

  1. I just finished it! At 12:00 am…
(SPOILERS) The book was great! I love the conflict between Zoe, Ben, Mike and Erica. Is Murray a bad guy now? Did Joshua survive the fall again? I like how Alexander was actually useful too.
Great book Stu. Is SPYDER done? I’m assuming that if Joshua survived he’ll still want to kill Ben. Will he start a new evil organization? This is probably all classified but great job on the book!

  2. Just Finished SSBI. It was so good. Just to be first, I’m calling out that Charlie Thorne and SS crossover. It would be so good if she became friends with Zoe. Also, did you change your cover designer, because the cover for CT is different than the ones from funjungle or the new musketeers or SS. They are really simplistic, whereas Charlie Thorne looks like the original musketeers cover.

  3. In the opening letter of SSGS, it mentions a CIA raid on a Boy Scout Jamboree. The book takes place in March but the Jamboree didn’t happen until July.
Also, the book says that Professor Simon said that Ben had “the fighting skills of a box turtle” however 4 box turtles became the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

  4. Hey Stu, if this is classified don’t answer. but, are you planning on ending the love triangle in the last book. or will you have them time in the next book to properly see in action how it affects all 3 of them?

  5. Uranus –

The fun of the love triangle — or any romantic complications in these books — is to show how they mess up the missions.

  6. Hi Stu
I get that seeing how it distracts them is funny, I find it hilarious. It’s that, no matter who he chooses, the awkwardness from them and jealousy from the other can also be funny.
Also, Ben goes through phones like tissues. Lol

  7. Hey Stu,
I saw a new SS book set on the B&N’s website! It said that it wasn’t out yet, and that it was coming out in August 27, 2019. Is that true?

  8. classified –

A second FJ book? There are f FJ books out. (And a sixth coming next year.). See my books page for details.

  9. I love this book. It’s one of my favorite you’ve written so far. I’ve already read it twice. I’m reading it again now. I hope the next one is just as good

  10. My friends are killing me! 2 of them already have it, and 1 of them has exclusive edition. I got to read it though during DEAR.

  11. What do you mean by the exclusive B&N SSBI edition is the same price as the regular edition? I got mine for 14.39 at target. Also, big fan of this book and all your books. I have all your books except for a few spy school books. My favorite book from you is probably SSGS and The last musketeer Traitor’s Chase.

  12. Hey Stu do you know if there will be a Spy School book 8 because the bad guys were defeated

  13. Aidan –

The SSBI exclusive edition is the same price at B&N as the regular book. If you bought it for cheaper at Target, that’s because Target is selling it for less than the official market price to get you to shop at target more.

  14. Aiden –

Yes, there will be an SS8. Look at the right hand side of every page of my website and you will see the release schedule for future books.

  15. Hey Stu. I Loved the book! The final fight scene was amazing. Just one thing though. Whatever happened with Jemma Stern and Mike? Honestly, I don’t care much for whatever romance they have, I’m just curious because nothing was said about the “Jemma dilemma” from SSGS.

  16. Hi Stu,
Spy School Brit. Invasion is really good, and I have a few questions. What book did we find out Warren was a mole in, and did he place the shell in the rocket Ben was shooting (and accidentally blow the Principal’s office up with) in Evil Spy School? It would make sense. Also, 1 more: Who will Ben’s enemy be in the next SS book?

  17. Was the line “you mess with the bull and you get the horns” a reference to what Richard Vernon said to John Bender (Judd Nelson) in The Breakfast Club?

  18. Max –

Nothing was said about the Jemma dilemma because there was plenty of other stuff going on. Fate of the world at risk and all that.

  19. Noah –

If I knew the next time I was coming to Philly, it would be on my upcoming events list. And if i knew the name of the next FJ book, it would be in the Upcoming releases. But I don’t have answers to either of those things.

  20. Noah –

I do not know if FJ6 will be the last. Probably not, but I can’t say that for sure.

  21. Graham –

You learn about Warren in SSSS. His actions in ESS were a mistake, manipulated by Erica.

I am not sharing any details about SS8 for months to come.

  22. Is the line “you mess with the bull and you get the horns” a reference to what Richard Vernon said to Judd Nelson in The Breakfast Club?

  23. Stu-

I was thinking that in the end of the ENTIRE Spy school series, that ONE evil person starts a small company called LIVE. (LIVE spelled backwards is EVIL). And LIVE decides to steal a few animals from Funjungle. And Teddy Fitzroy is on the case, as well as Ben (and Erica and Summer). But then those LIVE agents decide to go to Moon Base Alpha. Then that’s where Dash (and Violet?) come in. And then they all solve the crime and happy ending and stuff!!!!!! YYAYAYAYAYAYAY7AYYAYYAYAYYAYYAYYAYYY11011010100101010101. Okay. Now that I just posted this is public u might not be able to use it… XD.

  24. Hey Stu, I loved SSBI! There were so many new concepts and situations. I knew this one was going to be more jam packed than usual, but you always exceed expectations! The character arcs are solid and I particularly appreciated Erica’s temporary weakness (amongst so many other cool stuff)
Fall 2020 seems like an eternity away. Can’t wait for what you will do with the series from here!

  25. Lol hi again Stu!!! SS:BI was really good!!!! I was bugging my bff to let me read it, and she did, so, yaaaaaaay!!! One question tho…. In the actual like sewer area in England are there those skulls? That was lol really creepy when ( SPOILER ALERT!!!) Mr/Mrs E said some were from her employees!!!!! Thx, bye!!!

  26. Hey Stu,
In SSBI Ben says he had guns pointed at him more times than he could count. I know this is a figure of speech, but even so, it annoys my inner perfectionist. (He has level 16 math)

  27. Me and my friend are working on a cool story called Unbeatable. I’m using the spy school books as an inspiration for ideas in the book. Can’t wait for Spy School 8!

  28. Ovigly –

Think of it this way: There have been times in the series when multiple people have been shooting at Ben at once. Did he stop to count how many people in those moments? Probably not. Maybe he couldn’t even see everyone who was shooting at him. So he couldn’t count them.

  29. Hey Stu,

I know you can’t really divulge much relationship wise (classified and all), but based on the bonus pages of British Invasion, is it fair to say Zoe isn’t interested in Mike romantically?

She says pretty explicitly that Mike would “screw up any relationship he’s in” and that he’s “cute, but bad news”. Or is this more left up to the reader’s interpretation?

  30. SS Fan –

Anything Zoe says is Zoe’s opinion, so you can infer what you want from that.

  31. I read and know that the love triangle thing is to show how they mess up missions but sometimes I get hung up in it and was upset when at the end of SSBI he chooses Zoe instead of Erica.

  32. riachaabi –

Just because he falls asleep with his head on Zoe’s should does not mean he has chosen her over Erica.

  33. Richaabi
Stu can do anything with his characters and make it interesting. But I think story wise both Erica and Zoe’s reaction would be more interesting if he picked Zoe.
(Erica could become a little more open to everyone, because she feels a bit off talking to Ben then. And Zoe will finally get to be a major character without having to be the most awkward character for Ben to talk to) but that’s my opinion
