The Last Musketeer is being re-released and repackaged and it looks amazing.

It’s been a long time since I posted about The Last Musketeer.  But there have been some exciting developments since then.

For those of you who are unaware of what The Last Musketeer even is, it’s a trilogy I wrote back in 2011-12 about a modern day kid named Greg Rich who gets transported back to Paris 400 years ago, where he ends up bringing together the Three Musketeers for their first adventure — and becoming the infamous D’Artagnan.

For the past few years, it has been relatively hard to get these books — and the second two in the series were never even released in paperback.

Well that has all changed!  Some of you may have noticed this beautifully redesigned version of The Last Musketeer in your bookstores recently:

Well, the next two books in the series will be re-released this spring!  (Eagle-eyed readers of this website may have already noticed that this has been mentioned in the ‘Upcoming Releases’ on the right hand side of this site.)  On February 26 (which also happens to be the release date of Lion Down) you will finally be able to get The Last Musketeer: Traitor’s Chase in paperback:

And on May 7, the final book in the series, Double Cross, will be available:

And if you prefer audiobooks, the series will soon be available that way too.

If you have never had the chance to read this series, here it is!  It’s full of adventure, swashbuckling, mystery and humor.  I’ve always been proud of this series (my son used to claim it was his favorite of mine) so I hope you check it out.

  1. I love your book covers. Just have one question:
Who designs them, and do you get to help design them?

  2. Jasmine –

My covers are done by a really talented artist named Lucy Cummins. I have a little bit of input, but Lucy is so talented, I rarely have to say anything.

  3. OMG I’M NOT IISAI I’M YOUR BIGGEST FAN. JUST STOP PRETENDING TO BE ME. AND YOUR BIGGEST FAN IS NOT ENCRYPTED IN IISAI. I AM NOT IISAI AND NEVER WILL BE.

  4. (But seriously, IISAI, I don’t want to be you. Someone has been pretending to be me. The person who said “I am IISAI” under the username “Your biggest fan” and “I am Your biggest fan” under the username “IISAI” ween’t me. And when I said “I am not pretending to be IISAI”, I meant “I am not IISAI”. That was a typo. Glad to clear up all the confusion.)

  5. Okie we get it your biggest fan
    Honestly, y’all should stop impersonating.
IISAI, if u are a copycat, plz stop!!!

  6. Hey y’all,

  7. Dear Mr. Gibbs will you be writing more in that series now that you changed the cover to fit the style that all your other books have? Because i asked you a while ago if you were going to write more and you said that one of the main reasons was that it had a different cover and so people didn’t recognize it as one of your books.

  8. Duckiemaster –

I am not going to write any more in the LM series. It has now been too long since I wrote that series and I have moved on to other series.

  9. I just noticed, on Traitor’s Chase, is that Milady’s face on Greg’s left and her hair on Greg’s cape?

  10. Okay, I know you’re not writing anyore books in this series. I just came up with one that I really enjoyed and wanted to share it with you.
So, when Greg teleports back, somehow his friends end up coming with him and they can’t go back (at least for now). Now they are in the modern day world and totally confused and fascinated by EVERYTHING. The mazing food, the sewer system, electronics, clothing, etc. Now they have to make Athos, Aramis, and Porthos fit in while a crazy rich madman tries to find the Devil’s Stone before they can (I guess it got lost on th trip to the twenty first century).

  11. Dear Mr.Gibbs,
I just wanted to tell you that 4 years ago I literally despised reading. I would pretty much do anything to get out of it. One day I was at a bookstore because I was being forced to go there and I was looking around when I saw a book with a hippo on it which is my spirit animal. I yelled my fathers name and said,” Daddy, look I want all of these books by Stu.. Stuart Gibbs!”. My dad looked at me like a crazy person because he knew that I hated reading but he just said okay. I ended up spending about over 40 dollars on your earlier books, and wow it was so worth it. Mr.Gibbs, you have changed my life and you are my role model that I will always keep up with when I write books. There are no words to describe how much I appreciate you. You are amazing.

  12. Adair –

Glad to hear that I helped you enjoy reading. And you are the first person I have ever heard from who says that a hippo is their spirit animal.
