Barnes & Noble is printing an exclusive edition of Spy School Goes South

Sorry if these posts are getting redundant but… Barnes & Noble is doing yet another special edition of one of my books.  (For those of you keeping score at home, I believe this is special edition #8.)

As usual, there will be 16 pages of fun bonus material that I have written, and a bonus poster on the inside cover of the book jacket.  (Plus, the special edition cover is always extra-sparkly.)

And guess how much extra you have to pay for all this good stuff: Nothing!  It’s exactly the same price!  (Extra bonus: Sometimes the special editions ship earlier than the regular editions, so people occasionally get their copies early.  Not always.  But occasionally.)

  1. Stuart has gift. I’m so excited to see where he takes this and how long it will be. I have this feeling though that Stuart is gonna twist something that makes us yell WHY, but we’ll like it and him all the more for it. Stuart I can’t wait to see what you’ve cooked up or are still cooking up for SSGS and the future. PS you don’t take suggestions but I know it would spice up the relationship side plots if you just made Ben date Zoe and really juice the discord and tension between everybody right now. Ooooooooo I can see you doing som etching like that

I would LOVE to tell you what the new series is about. But my publisher doesn’t want me to say anything yet.

There is a joke on the timeline. But the timeline itself is not a joke. At the moment, I have no upcoming events scheduled — although my fall tour is starting to come together.

  4. Will any of the characters that only showed up once show up again, like Nate Mackey or Mr Wigglebottom? Or are they a one time thing?

  5. Alanna

I can never remember what the sneak schedule is. But I’m sure you can read a bit of the book on Amazon right now.

  6. Sean

I can’t say which characters will come back again. Anyone could resurface in this series at any time depending on whether or not it makes sense to put them in another book.

  7. Rocky

At some time soon you will be able to read the first few pages on Amazon. And Barnes & Noble’s site too.

  8. Dear Mr. Gibbs,
I recently just noticed that you’re kids have the same names as the kids in “The Incredibles.” Was that on purpose? I like their names a lot though, and like all the names of the people in you’re books, they were good names to choose for Dash and Violet in MBA.

  9. Wait, will the new series have anything to do with dinosaurs?
Also, have you ever considered republishing the LM series through Simon and Schuster?

  10. Dear Mr. Gibbs,
I recently noticed that your fun jungle series takes more than a year to publish but your Spy school series takes much shorter time to publish. Is the FunJungle series harder to write, or does it just make less money?

  11. Ada –

My kids were named that despite the Incredibles. My wife and I loved the names. The only strike against them were that they were already characters in a movie. So we decided to name the kids those names anyhow.

  12. Elite Z –

The new series does not have anything to do with dinosaurs.

S&S can’t publish LM because Harper Collins holds the intellectual property rights to that series.

Do you mean, does Greg ever return to the future? That’s a secret for book 3 (which ought to be available on line — and will eventually be re-released).
